Welcome to the AZActiveKids.com newsletter. I recently changed my newsletter service to RatePoint to save some money but still be able to maintain this fun way to share information.

This AZ heat has been stiffling this July. We've been feeling very couped up now that we're back from our summer travels. I find myself on the computer planning all kinds of camping excursions and can't wait to do more group campouts. I'd love to have more families get involved in these budget friendly outings, so watch for more dates.

I've started a blog

I've tried keeping up a blog in the past and just couldn't find the discipline, but I recently became committed to sharing my daily thoughts here. So far I'm mostly focusing on nature, but I'm sure I'll be all over the place with my thoughts once school starts back up. If you'd like to become a fan or check it out, please do!

And yes, that's me (photo on the right) sliding on my belly at Slide Rock State Park up in Sedona last weekend with my 9 year old looking on. What fun we had! We bought the annual pass for $50 since it gets us into a variety of State Parks. One time admission to Slide Rock is $10 for a carload of 4 people. Click here for AZ State Parks Website.

Upcoming Group Sales Events Including Disney Live! Rockin' Road Show

I got a few dates from my US Airways Center group sales contact. I will be doing group tickets for Disney Live and the links should be available sometime next week. The dates for the show are Oct. 10 & 11 and the tickets aren't discounted all that much. But, the bonus is that at least by purchasing group tickets you'll save all the Ticketmaster fees which can really add up.

Also coming January 13-18 is Disney on Ice: Worlds of Fantasy. This one should have a Friday matinee which is always the least expensive pricing.
March 31- April 4 is Disney on Ice: 100 Years of Magic

I'll also be doing some Phoenix Suns group tickets this year and hopefully I'll have links for those too (so I don't have to collect money and distribute tickets).

Ringling Bros Barnum & Bailey Circus dates for 2010 are June 23-27 and I'll of course have tickets for that event.

City of Phoenix Parks & Recreation Fall Class Registration this Saturday, August 1st 10:30am

Visit www.Phoenix.gov/parks/ for full details. You will need to set up an account if you haven't already, so do it in advance if you can (it'll save time so you can complete registration quicker). The Parks & Rec dept offers a wide variety of quality classes for budget minded parents. Classes include sports, arts and crafts, dance, singing and so much more.

I recently found out about this great site through the www.Greenhour.com newsletter. I absolutely love this video that she put together that shows all the highlights from the year...in lightning speed. I love the music it's set to also...am trying to figure out how I could do something similar...very fun!
