Hello Active Families!

I hope everyone had a great week.  Mine certainly flew by since I've had company (for the last 2 weeks).  My mom returns to Wichita, tomorrow; it's been a wonderful visit.  I could really get used to having family close by!

I wanted to share some more fun photos with you, especially the "nature art" I discovered above.  Do you see the heart in the tide pool?  I found this fascinating since the boys and I have a tradition of searching for heart shaped rocks (this is my mom's obsession that's rubbed off on us).  Nature provides unbelievable surprises if you open your eyes and look at things with an open mind.

This week I created some 5 x 7 note cards to use as future gifts.  I simply had some of my personal photos printed and then attached them to the front of blank cards I bought at Walmart.  I got 50 prints FREE via CVS (as a new online photo customer).  As my dad would say "you can't beat that with a stick." 

I was thrilled when Jack, my 6 year old was looking over my cards and picked up one of  Yosemite and said "I like this one!  There's El Capitan (pronounced correctly), Half Dome and 3 Brothers".  Wow, he did learn a lot this summer!  Of course I was beaming with great pride over my little environmentalist.

Have a wonderful weekend with your children and be sure to get outside and enjoy a hike, a bike ride, some playtime in the park or simply time watching the morning birds.  The weather's going to be amazing (although I'd like it a little bit cooler).  We are so blessed to live here...we weren't saying that a few months ago, were we :)

I've been signing up for all kinds of FREE Samples online recently and it's quite fun to get something in the mail besides bills! 

Here's a FREE sample of Nature Valley Granola Bars and Granola Nut Clusters (both are delicious...I already got my samples). 
Most samples normally include coupons too.  I'd recommend setting up a special email account to use for all your sign ups so you don't  junk mail clogging up your filter.  I don't get spammed, but I do get a lot of "newsletters" and such from these companies (all of which you can opt out of, but many have great information, recipes, ideas and more coupons!
